Geek Goddess is hosted by TechGig – India’s leading IT learning platform which has more than 3.2 million technologists onboard.TechGig Geek Goddess 2018 was launched in August when women technologists from all walks of life were invited to share their ideas and codes in different programming languages at the contest. From fresh graduates to senior leaders – women coders from all backgrounds and experiences participated in this edition enthusiastically.
While most participants were from Bengaluru, followed by Chennai, Delhi-NCR, Hyderabad, Mumbai, and Pune, the overall number of women professionals who had registered for the arena was a whopping 68,000. The season witnessed C, C++, C#, Java, and Python, as the most preferred programming languages.

The motive of the whole event was to emphasize Diversity Inclusion and to encourage women in the largely-male dominated IT industry. Mr. Sanjay Goyal, Head Product, Technology, TechGig, and TimesJobs said, “We have seen the ratio between male and female in the IT industry, is quite skewed with the lower number of female professionals as compared to males.”

Often a lesser number of women professionals are being examined for a job in comparison to men.

On the occasion, Nishit Kumar, National Sales Head, TechGig & TimesJobs, said, “ The whole concept of TechGig is to build a bridge between the employer and the employee and also to maintain the ratio between the gender over IT sector”. TechGig Geek Goddess is a unique opportunity for women technologists where they can showcase their genius without facing any bias. I invite women coders from all walks of life to join in as we put up this mega show to celebrate talented women technologists with our presenting partner American Express”.

TechGig Geek Goddess has provided an open platform for the tech-community to get connected and exchange ideas and opinions on diversity and women representation in the IT companies.
